Turning "Ugly" Food into Beautiful Meals

Each week we share a healthy recipe or simple preparation method for one or more of the items inside our box to help you reduce waste and find adventure in your kitchen. Dig in!

Crunchy Vegetable Wraps with Butternut Squash Hummus

We’ve had a few glimpses of warmer spring-like temps recently which has us craving all the bright, fresh, and crunchy produce. Whether used in salads, on sandwiches, or as snacks, there’s a huge variety of fresh produce in this week’s box that can be enjoyed raw. And if you received a butternut squash this week (or if you have one lingering on your counter), we challenge you to try using it to make hummus! It makes for a fantastic dip for fresh vegetables and is delicious on sandwiches and wraps, like the one we’re featuring here. With the kids home, we’re eating lots (and lots!) of meals together. If you’re running low on ideas, try these wraps for lunch (or dinner) this week! Customize the

Blueberry Pie Cinnamon Rolls with Lemon Icing

On quarantine day 32, we make cinnamon rolls that taste like pie! This week’s PIP box was full of vibrant and delicious items, but the blueberries and lemons were begging to be turned into something special. This cinnamon roll recipe is not like the one you simply popped from the can as a kid, but ohhh so much more. Have you ever tried making homemade cinnamon rolls before? Contrary to popular belief, they are actually pretty easy to make and I'd say we all deserve a little something sweet to keep us going these days. As a registered dietitian nutritionist, I coach my clients to incorporate a variety of foods into their diet as tolerated. Desserts and sweet treats are no exception. Many food

Vegetable Tian

We’re hoping the beautiful produce in this week’s box will inspire you to make something special for your holiday meals this weekend. With grocery trips few and far between, this recipe is extra simple and calls for a few of the items in this week's PIP box along with just a handful of other ingredients you likely have in your pantry and fridge. This Vegetable Tian would make a great addition to any entree you plan to serve and elevates basic roasted vegetables into a show-stopping side dish. We’re using zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, potatoes and onion from this week’s haul, but you can use any combination you have. Vegetable Tian Prep time: 15 min. Cook time: 45 min. Total time: 60 min

Blackberry Smash by Aurelia

Every week we provide you with a recipe in hopes that we'll inspire you to get creative using the contents of your delivery of our Perfectly Imperfect fresh fruits and veggies. Well last month when our friends at Aurelia in Chagrin Falls created a delectable Walleye with Broccoli & Romanesco Risotto, using our produce, Bartender Mick McGuire also created a signature cocktail using some of the fruit we brought in. I don't know about you, but I think we could all use a stiff drink right about now with all the craziness going on in the world. It's 5:00 somewhere right? Our favorite photographer Karin McKenna captured every moment of the magic perfectly! Check it out! Here's the delicious drink
